How We Help

The Commission’s employment equity role involves working with federally-regulated employers to promote equality in workplace, including by conducting audits to asses an employer’s compliance with the obligations set out in the Employment Equity Act.

When undertaking audits, we take into account an employer’s challenges, but also acknowledge progress and encourage success. Further, we help facilitate the creation of a human rights culture by helping employers achieve employment equity objectives and by promoting understanding of the benefits of a representative workforce.
